Notably, even the earliest version of him had this move: Secret Art: According to one of his 1.0 version's winquotes, it's his Kung Fu Palm attack.Martial Arts Uniform: He wears a pale white one, more similar to Karate than Kung Fu.Martial Arts Headband: He wears a blue one.Follow the Leader: Probably the character with most edited versions ever, having since minor edits and gameplay changes to redesigns even in 3D, only reached by Kishio's Donald and of course Ryu and Kyo Kusanagi.Finishing Move: Some versions of him has this, as Fatalities in the version of Warner and Juano16 and as Claytalities in the version of Basara-kun.Face Palm: His losing pose via Time Over.
EX Special Attack: His Fast Kung Fu Palm, Fast Kung Fu Upper, Fast Kung Fu Blow, Fast Kung Fu Knee and Fast Kung Fu Zankou are faster, more damaging versions of his respective special attacks, but cost a third of an energy bar to use. Expy: Of martial arts movies plot where a villain (usually an American one in oriental movies) kidnapped martial artist's girlfriend and so he goes to a Roaring Rampage of Rescue. His Triple Kung Fu Palm hyper involves him using Kung Fu Palm thrice in succession. even though some of his moves are closer to karate. Evil Counterpart: He has many, but the most known is Most_Mysterious' Evil Kung Fu Man (which is revealed as a Cyborg.). His throw was bugged and caused him to do nothing, as it wasn't implemented yet. Early-Installment Weirdness: The earliest version of Kung Fu Man had less-refined graphics (especially his face) and only eight attacks - a punch, a kick, crouching punch, crouching kick, aerial punch, aerial kick, Kung Fu Palm, and Triple Kung Fu Palm. Downer Ending: He's unable to rescue his girlfriend as there was no Suave Dude character created at the time. Double Jump: Is capable of doing so via inexplicable means, and is probably the only trait of his that isn't " normal". Defend Command: His 1.0 version has a command block called the Kung Fu Block, it allows him to parry attacks. Death Cry Echo: His death cry is notably for echoing three times. Difficult, but Awesome: With the right player/AI, he can be a surprisingly dangerous fighter, with the capability to knock off a third of a character's health bar for the mere cost of half a super meter!. Close-Range Combatant: Kung Fu Man has a variety of close range attacks, but no projectiles. which eventualy leads him to Klaymodo Island for the events of ClayFighter series. His backstory is still his neverending search for his girlfriend. Guest Fighter: In ClayFighter: Infinite Clayfare, joining Earthworm Jim and Boogerman as the third guest in this fangame. He also stars as a character in Another Kung Fu Girl Z's story. The Cameo: Basara-kun's Eric has him as Assist Character. Brick Break: Breaks a thrown wooden board in his intro. Boring, but Practical: He's far from being the flashiest character and lacks long-range or projectile attacks, but his moveset with specials, supers, a throw, a Double Jump, and a Defend Command is generally able to take on most opponents if the player uses him well. Bare-Fisted Monk: The only attacks he has are attacking with punches or kicks. Badass Normal: Doesn't even use fireballs or ki powers! Despite this, he somehow does have the inexplicable ability to Double Jump. There're some KFM versions in which MUGEN creators recreate him with new and different sprites in different styles: in SNK style (a KOF edit of Ryo Sakazaki with Joe Higashi), in anime (redrawn by OGGY, the creator of Ryuko) and even as CVS2 Akuma (a sprite Palette Swap called as "Kung Fu Fan" with all KFM moves, which is an Akuma clone with all KFM moves.). Most notably seen between his first and second version, which made him less Gonk and with a black t-shirt below the Martial Arts Uniform, being this version used for the next version for 1.0. Despite his basic gameplay and shallow level of code, (to help beginners learn the programming language) or perhaps because of them, he remains a significantly popular character, with countless edited versions of him by innumerable creators across the community. The quintessential "template" character for MUGEN, Kung Fu Man is a martial artist who fights to rescue his girlfriend from the evil Suave Dude.
